Utilization of waste biomass for power generation
Smarž, Patrik ; Šejvl, Radovan (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis, in its introduction, describes the expression biomass and the ways of its production from various sources, focused particularly on waste biomass In the following part it deals with the description of its origin and the advantages of its usage. It describes the usage of biomass in the world as well as in the Slovak Republic. It also looks into the possibilities of processing of biomass and the following use at heat and electricity production. In its last part this work describes, on particular examples, the usage of biomass in electricity and heat production, from businesses with high power to its usage in houses.
Solutions for using micro cogeneration in places where are not primarily available gas or liquid fuels
Kubínek, Martin ; Štelcl, Otakar (referee) ; Vojáčková, Jitka (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the usage of micro cogeneration units in the places where gas and liquid fuels are not primarily available. In the research part, the available technologies and the current condition of the market of micro cogeneration units, which use solid fuels, especially biomass, are described. In the technical-economical part, there is a design of the specific unit whose thermal output corresponds to the thermal rated loss of the chosen building. The payback period of the unit with a gasifier and with a combustion engine is estimated in the cases when the chosen building is currently heated by: lignite, wooden chips, electricity and the combination of natural gas and coke.
Biomass microcogeneration unit with turbomachine
Horák, Jiří ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This Master´s thesis deals with a theoretical micro cogeneration unit design contains hot air microturbine using energy from biomass. In the first part of the thesis there are model examples of energy consumption in typical family or apartment houses. In the next part there is the overview of micro cogeneration commercial units which can be used in model examples of a family or apartment housing. According to the assignment of this thesis and based on the analysis of model examples a new cogeneration system is designed. The last part of the thesis deals with the economic evaluation of the new cogeneration system compared with commercial systems.
